Withy Kitchen

In Withy Kitchen, near Somerston, a third generation vegetarian, Helen Field, and her husband have launched an exciting range of unusual, frozen vegetarian ready-meals produced within a completely meat free environment.

Alongside a selection of traditional vegetarian favourites such as lasagne, risotto and stroganoff, Withy Kitchen has a range of more original dishes such as the Broad Bean and Ricotta Cannelloni which, covered with a thick, creamy sauce and parmesan, is as substantial as it is tasty, while the Penne, Pecorino & Broad Bean Gratin is a refreshing take on pasta.  Fajitas served with puy lentil and mushroom or butternut squash and refried beans make an excellent dinnertime treat, and the generously filled Raised Pies are delicious hot or cold, as are the Leek, Cheese and Sage Pasties.

We tried the Goat's Cheese and Basil Roulade and could not fault it, it was easy to prepare, it looked exquisite and the blend of flavours was perfect, as good as you'd find in any restaurant.  Staying withthe goat's cheese theme we also samples the Puff Pastry Tar with Goat's Cheese and Chicory Marmalade, also delicious, with just enough caremelised ornage to offset the cheese.

The range is designed to appeal to health conscious consumers who are actively reducing their meat intake or who have always enjoyed meat-free meals, as much as pure vegetarians and vegans. Withy kitchen meals will be an easy alternative to cooking a pseecial dish for for friends and families of vegetarians too.

Delivery is made by courier service in specially insulated boxes to any UK address.

While vegetarian food has long been seen as a bland alternative to meat dishes, it has recently become increasingly popular with lovers of good produce, and with Withy Kitchen, Keith and Helen look set to continue this positive change in perception.
